
Sirniki – palačinke od svježeg sira prvi put se spominju u ukrajinskim kuharicama iz 18. i 19. stoljeća. Ovo jelo je uobičajeno za niz istočnoeuropskih kuhinja. Sirniki mogu biti slatki i slani, prženi ili pečeni. Ovaj recept je za slatke i hranjive palačinke za obiteljski doručak.
Sastojci:
- Svježi sir 300 g
- 1 jaje
- Šećer i sol po ukusu
- Pšenično brašno
- Suncokretovo ulje
- Džem ili kiselo vrhnje
Pomiješajte svježi sir, jaje, šećer i sol u zdjeli, dodajući brašno dok smjesa ne postane gusta. Namažite dlanove uljem i od smjese oblikujte male kuglice. Zatim uvaljajte kuglice u brašno, lagano ih pritiskajući da dobijete pljosnate ovale. Pržite ih u suncokretovom ulju na srednjoj vatri dok ne porumene. Višak ulja uklonite papirnatim ručnikom i poslužite. Najbolje ih je jesti s kiselim vrhnjem i džemom po želji.

Syrnyky: a quick, popular Ukrainian breakfast
Syrnyky — cottage-cheese pancakes were first mentioned in the 18-19th century Ukrainian cook books. This meal is common for a number of Eastern European cuisines. Syrnyky can be sweet and savory, fried or baked. This recipe is for a batch of sweet nutritious pancakes for a family breakfast.
Ingredients:
- Cottage cheese 300 g
- 1 egg
- Sugar and salt to taste
- Wheat flour
- Sunflower oil
- Jam or sour cream
Mix cottage cheese, an egg, sugar and salt in a bowl, adding flour until the mixture becomes dense. Put some oil onto your palms and make small balls out of the mixture. Then roll these balls in flour, pressing them down a bit, forming flat ovals. Shallow fry in sunflower oil on medium heat until golden brown. Take the excess oil with a paper towel, and serve. They taste better with sour cream and a jam to your liking.
