Sastojci:
- Mlijeko: 1 l
- Proso: 300 g
- Jaja: 2 komada
- Šećer: 100-150 g
- Maslac: 100 g
- Mak: 100 g
Priprema:
- Isperite proso. Po potrebi ga namočite u vrućoj vodi kako ne bi bilo gorko.
- Operite mak i prelijte ga kipućom vodom na 15 minuta. Ocijedite vodu.
- Skuhajte proso u mlijeku do pola gotovosti. Umutite šećer s jajima i dodajte u kašu.
- Dodajte mak i polovicu maslaca. Na laganoj vatri kuhajte kašu još 15-20 minuta.
- Gotovu kašu začinite preostalim maslacem i poslužite.

Zozulya Porridge
An authentic Ukrainian dish named after a small speckled bird – “Zozulya” (Cuckoo) porridge. This can be a sweet and nutritious breakfast for cool mornings. Whole millet, dairy products, eggs, and poppy seeds provide a great energy boost for a productive day. Give it a try!
Ingredients:
- Milk: 1 l
- Millet: 300 g
- Eggs: 2 pcs
- Sugar: 100-150 g
- Butter: 100 g
- Poppy seeds: 100 g
Preparation:
- Rinse the millet. If necessary, soak it in hot water to remove any bitterness.
- Rinse the poppy seeds and pour boiling water over them for 15 minutes. Drain the water.
- Cook the millet in milk until it’s halfway done. Beat the sugar with the eggs and add to the porridge.
- Add the poppy seeds and half of the butter. Cook the porridge on low heat for another 15-20 minutes.
- Garnish the finished porridge with the remaining butter and serve.
